Mar 20, 2013 · We make 4x4 round bales and use the 5520 for all hauling, moving bales, etc... For some time now I have been having significant problems with the hydraulic system. Basically the hydraulics will cut out - which means no loader, and more dangerously, no power steering. It is worse in the cold. Silver Member. I am looking at a JD 5420 with cab, heat, air and loader. I have not called the seller yet as I would like to get some opinions beforehand. The tractor will be used mainly with a snow plow on the loader arms. The 5420 had the 521 and 541 loader.
