I have been having a hard time finding out the differences in workload between being a patent examiner and patent agent. I know that patent examiners work 80 hours every 2 weeks and patent agents (on average) put in somewhere between 32-40 billable hours which amount to 40-50 working hours. Becoming a Patent Examiner. ME and EE technologies and art units have substantially higher turnover relative to chemistry and biotech. So the office hires a lot of EE (not as competitive) but far fewer people in, say TC1600 (much more competitive).
