I have an IMR 4350 load worked up for my 300 WSM but would like to try one of Hodgdon extreme powders. Can I consider these two powders the same as far charge weight goes?.

My first loads for my 30-06 were with IMR 4350, but I was concerned, probably unnecessarily, about instability with temperature changes. I switched to H4350 and found it okay, but could not find more when I needed it. Next I went to IMR4451, one of the new Enduron powders and find it very good and generally available.IMR4350 / H4350. Getting ready to start loading for my new to me 7mm-08. Nosler 120g BT's are the bullets I want to use. Nosler starting load with this bullet is 45g of IMR4350 / 49g max. Nosler has no data for H4350. Hodgdon starting load with the same bullet is 48g of H4350 / 50g max. Hodgdon has no data for IMR4350.Feb 10, 2009. #4. What really surprised me, though, is the data for .30-06 - namely, pushing the 208 ELD-M @ 2660 fps w/ 54.2 grains. Hodgdon also lists it as faster than Enduron 4955 and SuperFormance with 180s (and H4350).I haven't tried H4350 with a 165 gr. bullet as of yet in my 30-06 but two years ago I shot a cow elk with the 165 gr. Nosler AccuBond using W760 and the elk died. Bullet entered in the ribs on the right side and destroyed the left lung. Elk went maybe 30 yards, laid down and died. Another good couple of good places for start data are the Hodgdon & Alliant reloading data centers. IIRC (and you'd want to check on this) Sierra lists 66.5 gr IMR-4350 as max w/ 100s.

I’m using IMR4350 with great results, 41.6 grains and 143 gr Hornady ELD-X is averaging .56 inch for a 5 shot group at 100 yards. I’m also having good luck with RL16 and 140 gr Speer Gold Dots.
